We stayed in one of their apartments across the road for a week and it was very comfortable with a great view of the weir from the window. We also had full use of the pool and spa which were very well kept and our kids loved it. We had a problem with the hot water and when we told reception about it they spoke to their maintenance guy who was on his way home; he turnt around and came and sorted it for us the whole time with a smile. All the staff here were amazing and very friendly. Great place !

Fantastic hotel, I really enjoyed our two night break. Great food and drink at reasonable prices. The staff are lovely and willing to help. There was a brilliant selection of food for breakfast, and the sausages were good quality, which I think is always a tell tail to how good the rest of the breakfast is going to be. Enjoyed using the pool and spa when it was raining. We had room 210, which overlooks the town square, and I would definitely recommend getting this room if you had the option. Will definitely be coming back.

Christmas lunch today. Awful food dreadful atmosphere 😫 Luke warm turkey fried frozen potatoes undercooked frozen Brussels sprouts couldn't get my knife though parsnip as they were woody. Dirty plates put out. No cranberry sauce intfact no sauces of any kind. Sweets cut and left our before we arrived we are talking toddler potions, and again no custard or cream. It wasike sitting in a canteen but with worse food. We got a full refund as we couldn't eat meal. So sat at home starving now thianks Angus Hotel for the worst Christmas or in fact any lunch I've had I myife. Oh my look at management response couldn't give a jot Well your response to my husband and I was no one else has complained. Looking through other negative reviews your standard answer For goodness sake takes responsibility for your totally inadequate kitchen. Not everyone will be confident to give you honest feedback but let's be clear they have shared their negatively with other businesses in village as we found out today! It is with sadness I read the reply. My husband and I made it clear it wasn't about getting a refund ! We just expected a decent meal. As I said we went home starving not what we expected on Christmas day. Any other day we could have gone to another restaurant in village buy not on Christmas day. The managers reply is Insulting we didn't Sk for a refund and certainly didn't agree to not comment on social media. Further more as more complaints appeared online you admitted you got it wrong. So your reply to us is Insulting

In regards to Christmas meal, agree with the 2 posts. Was bitterly dissapointed with the full set up & severe lack of communication from initial server. The Turkey & Gammon were most edible but vegetables were solid, Yorkies were rubber & desserts very poor choice. Again so disappointed & 100% NOT value for money paid. Was at Angus last year & so much better but ruined this year. Only plus was the helpfulness of 2 young staff in hall (1 lad & 1 very apologetic girl)

Were at The Angus yesterday for Christmas lunch, which was held in function room and self service!, no Christmas music ,no atmosphere ,waiters not in the Christmas spirit, no bread with soup which was the only edible course, I had two roast potatoes that were black inside, veg chewy, nut roast inedible soft veg with no nuts, no table service for drinks having to go through to lounge.......last year we had an amazing Christmas lunch in the Angus, what a difference a year makes!!

1 Young boy behind the bar with a bad attitude! been coming to the hotel for 3 years with a party of at least 15 an can safely say not 1 of us will return after the way this BOY treated an elderly man at the bar! Attitude stinks!

Stayed over a few times for work and never disappointed! Staff always go above and beyond to provide great customer service! Highly recommend a visit to the spa if you get the chance as the steam room/sauna and jacuzzi are awesome!

Book a disabled room gave a room which was not disable friendly after being on pho ne for 40 minutes to comfirm room .went to dinner no fish no chicken had run out 2 days before and not replaced.please if your going make sure you dont get room 130 as disabled room.dissapointing few days.

Brilliant hotel. Best entertainment. Clean and warm. The music deals are well worth it. The staff work so hard. Just home after an amazing weekend. We.l be back yet again.

Had one night stay for the tribute night. Hotel lovely staff very nice, room great. But the evening meal on the tribute night was awful crammed in like sardines no elbow room. I felt very uncomfortable food was ok. Oh and breakfast was fine great choice of food but the cooked food Luke warm but that’s hot plates for you!! We also ordered a bucket of drink 6 bottles in an ice bucket and no room on the table so I had to put it on the floor. Still able to drink it though. I’d come back but maybe not for the meal

Very disappointed at the evening meal I was booked for the entertainment and I was put at a table for 18 people chairs hard against each other no room to eat and making things worse the wife and I paid for our drinks in advance which was bottles in an ice bucket each no room on the table for that so it was under the table and made it impossible to get and drink as I was jammed in!

Could not fault anything from this hotel the food the drinks great selection at a reasonable price and the staff did a great job even although it was a very busy weekend with a Tribute act on.would highly recommend

Spent 2 nights at this hotel with my daughter and can honestly say it was absolutely fantastic. We were warmly welcomed by Claire on Reception who gave us all the details along with our key cards and directed us to our room. We stayed in a twin room overlooking the square. It was very clean, tastefully decorated and good size. Bathroom was lovely and bright with bath and shower. Toiletries were provided. There was a flatscreen TV mounted to the wall with free view channels. The hotel has its own WiFi too. There was a kettle and a coffee maker with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The restaurant was clean tidy and cosy looking. Loads of tables and a lovely fireplace in the middle. We had the roast chicken and the rump steak for mains. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. For dessert we chose the tiramisu and the tablet ice cream. Both were very tasty. We did had a long wait for our food but it was very busy and we weren't in a rush. The Spa was clean and modern theres treatment rooms, separate male & female changing rooms with lockers and hair dryers, 2 wet rooms with toilets, and a swimsuit dryer. The pool area is so lovely. Showers near the entrance and fresh water to drink. Then the pool with the deep end being 1.4m. There's a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and cold waterfall shower. The breakfast restaurant is quite large. It's self service with plenty of options including gluten free. There's continental options (fruit, cereals, pastries) choice of fruit juices, and hot food (sausges/bacon/haggis/eggs/hash browns) and bread (white & wholemeal) with a salamander to toast you choice. Tea and coffee facilities are also provided. Two Car parks (one at front and other at rear) with touchscreen tablet in hotel to register your car with. Lovely clean bar and lounge area with plenty of seating too. All in all we had a wonderful time here and we are booking to go again in a couple of months.

Room was clean and tidy upon arrival, however we had a spider in our bathroom when we put it outside the bathroom window it reappeared again which made we think there must have been a gap in the walls somewhere for it to re-enter. Food Manager wasn’t very accommodating we we booked the holiday through a coach company and they had our dietary requirements before arrival when it came to dinner they didn’t know anything about it and caused a fuss and said we had to eat the same meal for both nights no if’s or butts, the next evening we asked in we could order off the bar menu and they said no due to a function within the hotel the kitchen was closed and they weren’t will to help even though we said we would have paid extra, we went to our dinner plans arranged by the coach only to find out dinner wasn’t ready and we would have to wait another hour but we would have no entertainment as the function was being held in the dining area after some debate with the management and our coach driver they finally allowed us to join the Abba tribute night and have our dinner. Breakfast was very basic one day I managed to grab a croissant and the other day there was none left they only put out 2 of each if your lucky, the spa was amazing has to be one of the warmest ones I’ve been to but I don’t like the fact that the people in the dining area could watch me within the spa and there was a lack of seats within the swimming pool area. Great location but some of the staff are letting this hotel down, I have travelled to many different hotels within Scotland and over seas and haven’t had an issue when it comes to food but this really upset any angered me and put a dampener on my holiday.

It may be a 3 🌟 hotel but staff were 5 🌟 Friendly, personable and went the extra mile. Rooms are a bit tired looking and could do with a make over but Spa area is great with a few wee surprises (ice shower) !! Might not suit all as it can be noisy with tribute nights but we had a great stay ! Food was also cracking 👌

Room tiny bar service very slow booked into restaurant for evening meal again service slow order completely wrong and extras ordered missing ..overall very poor..other guests sending orders back aswell

We haven’t tried the spa but the room was confortable and clean and the food was good The place is a bit old but cute and the service is great

Just back from a night away here! such a lovely hotel, nice spa facilities and staff are lovely! Room was perfect and for it being near a road never heard any noise. Extra shout out to the young boy working at breakfast, so polite happy and such a grafter! Breakfast was tasty. Would definitely come back here!
